I’m an award-winning freelance editor. Among my honors are an Emmy, festival Audience Awards-one at Sundance, a Teddy from Berlin, ‘Best Of’ from the Big Apple, Golden Ace from Las Vegas, a Remi Winner at Houston and a couple of BDA Gold Awards.
I work primarily in the feature length documentary and fiction genres. I cut my teeth doing commercial spots. There’s no better way to learn how to tell a story succinctly than trying to do it in 30 seconds. In my career as both a staff and freelance editor I have cut films for both theatrical and TV release. I’ve edited serials and reality shows, science and variety shows. I’ve assembled roll-ins and hi-light reels for sports and news. Done trailers and promos for a number of programs. And on occasion I’m talked into putting together research stimuli for my wife who is a social psychologist. The thread in all of these genres is story, and I am considered to be quite good at putting together stories. People I work with find me to be a thoughtful, intuitive, collaborative and tenacious editor.
I have two edit stations at my cutting room with shared media storage. Of course I prefer to work at my facility whenever possible. I am, however, always ready to work wherever and whenever a project may require.
